Ian took advantage of an invitation by Reg McDonald (Wykamols Northern Technical Waterproofing Manager) to attend a classroom training session at their impressive new head office and factory in Hapton near Burnley.

Of interest was the development of a new management system for the pumps installed in basement waterproofing systems, briefly, the unit will provide statistics on, flow rates, pumping durations, and pump alternations, just to mention a few, this was very impressive! Thus providing valuable information come the annual pump servicing.

Also of interest was the discussion on the new main changes to BS8102 2009 code of practice for protection of below ground structures against water from the ground, this provided a good opportunity to air the thoughts of all 10 delegates.

Finally, the day ended with a tour of the factory and offices, and following a conversation with Andrew Latimer (Sales Director) plans are already drawn to extend the factory.
