Ian has just completed a course on Health & Safety for Site Supervisors, the course was conducted by Mr Mike Errington of MSM Safety Management Services and covered many topics within Health and Safety Law, such as:-

Safety_Signs-343x257.jpg_04022011-1205-48Developing a Health and Safety Management System, Occupational Health, Hazardous Substances, Fire Prevention, Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Accidents and First Aid, Working At Heights, Manual Handling and Personal Protective Equipment, just to mention a few, needless to say both days passed quickly.

Throughout each day case study exercises were given to each delegate, containing different scenarios, our task was to identify the risks and hazards associated with undertaking the job and then to develop a safe working method, of which formed part of our course assessment.

At the end of the first day individual “homework” was given in the form of preparing a 10 minute toolbox presentation, which was to be given in front of all delegates and of course Mike, again our performance formed part of our assessment.
